Joseph Hoyt Whaley, b: October 24, 1919, Henry County, Kentucky, d: September 
1, 1973, Fayette County, Kentucky.

parents:  Robert Talbott Whaley, b February 27, 1887, Kentucky, d: October 14, 
1954, Henry County, Kentucky:  Amanda Caroline Willson, b: December 12, 1889, 
Owingsville, Kentucky, d: 1963, Henry County, Kentucky.  Military:  Joseph 
Hoyt Whaley was a First Class Navy Seaman on the USS Yorktown and was a POW in 
WWII in Japan.  He served in Asiatic Theatre.  The POW camp was (pow camp 
Thailand, 13-100).  His report date was February 28, 1942 and last report date 
was October 30, 1945.  He was freed and able to come home to Henry County, 
Kentucky.
