Mrs Buchanan Died Following Operation Funeral services for the late Mrs John A Buchanan, 41, of the Richland country, who died at the Madisonville hospital Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock following an operation, were held Thursday. Interment was in the Oklahome cemetery. Rev. J D Shain officiated. The deceased was operated on Monday and had been in a serious condition since she was admitted to that institution. The end was not unexpected. Mrs Buchanan is survived by her husband, six children, Mrs Ethel Davis, Detroit, sister, Mrs R G Carneal, Madisonville, half sister, Debrow Dixon, Manitou country, and John Dixon of the Nebo country, who are half brothers. Mr Beeny had been connected with the Beeny barber shop in Sugg street for several years. Mr Beeny had resided here for the last twelve years. He was a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his widow and five children, Glover Beeny, Richland, Bob Whitson, Marguerite, Billy Ray and Bettie Jo Beeny; his mother and father, Mr and Mrs Arthur Beeny; five brothers, Elmer, Ellis, George, and Amos Beeny, of Madisonville, and John Beeny of Florida; three sisters, Mrs Scott Clayton, of Richland, Mrs Lucius Veasy, city, and Mrs Jessie Gammon, city. Nina May, July 30, 1885 - January 11, 1960 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Death Claims Mrs Beeny, 90, Here Monday Mrs Alcie Annie Beeny, 90, died in her home at 305 Lawrence street here Monday night at 10:45 o'clock from the effects of paralysis with which she was stricken ten days ago. She had been in a critical condition for several days. Mrs Beeny was a member of a pioneer and prominent Hopkins county family, Mr Beeny died here January 14, 1944. She had been a member of the Primitive Baptist church for many years. Surviving are three sons, Sheriff George T Beeny, 118 Cardwell avenue; Ellis Beeny, 126 Cardwell avenue, both of Madisonville; Elmer Beeny, Earlington; and three daughters, Mrs Scott Clayton, 529 South Madison avenue; Mrs John Haley, 305 Lawrence street; and Mrs Louis Buchanan, Madisonville. Mrs Beeny is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The survivors, including the children, consist of 104 descendants. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday at Madisonville Primitive Baptish church. Elder J D Shain will officiate. Burial will be in Clayton cemetery, near Manitou. He was 65. Mr Beeny suffered a mild heart attack two days ago although it was not believed to have been a heart attack at that time. Mr Beeny was associated with his son, Hardy Beeny, in the operation of the W A Beeny & Son grocery at 182 West Center street. Years ago Mr Beeny was associated with the late H H Graddy in the grocery business in East Center street. Born in Hopkins county, the son of the late A A Beeny, and Mrs Annie Clayton Beeny, Lawrence street, prominent Hopkins countians, Mr Beeny had spent his entire life in this county.
