Mattie's Scrapbook of Obituaries, page 9 Mrs Nannie Roberts To Be Buried Wednesday Mrs Nannie Roberts, 89, died at 1 am today in the home of her daughter, Mrs Ella O'Bannon, Pleasant Grove, from infirmities following a long period of ill health. She had been seriously ill several weeks. For years Mrs Roberts, widow of William Roberts, who died six years ago, had been a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, near Hanson. Surviving are four sons, Nicholas Roberts, Upland, Calif; Enoch Roberts, Madisonville; Dolph Roberts, near Madisonville; two daughters, Mrs O'Bannon and Mrs Alice Trice, Cox's Store section; sister, Mrs Mary Oakley, near Hanson; twenty grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral will be conducted at the Johnson Island Baptist church, near Nebo, at 11 am Wednesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He suffered a stroke of paralysis fifteen years ago which necessitated his use of crutches ever since. Surviving are the widow, Mrs Nannie Roberts, son, Lieut. Martin Roberts, army, former superintendent of Henderson county schools; daughter, Mrs William S Miller, Bowling Green; three brothers, Nicholas Roberts, California; Dolph Roberts and William Roberts, both of Nebo; two sisters, Mrs Thomas Trice, Cox's Store, and Mrs Oscar O'Bannon, Nebo, and three grandchildren. Mrs T F Reynolds, age 55 years, died of chronic valvular heart disease at the Western State hospital at Hopkinsville Friday. Her funeral was at the Methodist church here Sunday conducted by Rev. J E Hartford, assisted by Rev. W P Winstead of the Baptist church and Elder L N Varble of the Christian church. She is survived by her husband and three children, all of Slaughters. Burial at the Slaughters cemetery. -------- Miss Dona Reynolds Slaughters, Feb 9... Miss Dona Reynolds, 43, died here yesterday afternoon following a paralytic stroke. She had been in ill health for a month. It is feared that she will not recover. The boy died at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon after having been ill since Monday. Little hope of recovery was entertained from the time he was stricken. His is survived by his parents and three brothers and three sisters. Two of the brothers are Guy and Barney Clayton, both of Detroit. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. During her illness Mrs Siria received treatment at Hopkins County Hospital and at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Oddfellows Cemetery, Madisonville, Ky J C Siria, 1883 - 1958 Emma Siria, 1889 - 1947 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local Army Man Killed In Germany Army Specialist Second Class Marion Curneal, 37, of Madisonville, was killed near Bayreuth, Germany, last Wednesday in an automobile accident, the US Army announced Monday. Curneal, his wife and four children were riding in his car when it collided with a German truck, reports said. Curneal was fatally injured, but his wife and children escaped unhurt. Relatives said here today that Mrs Curneal and children were due to arrive in Madisonville either yesterday or today. The body of Curneal will probably be returned to the states by boat, it was said. The Curneals went to Germany the middle of November, last year.
