Olive Branch Church Cemetery Jesse E Gammon, March 24, 1883-Sept. 8, 1939 Linda P., January 28, 1892- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Myrtle Gammon Clayton By request and with sad hearts, we will try to write the obituary of Mrs Myrtle Clayton, wife of Mr James I Clayton. She fell asleep in the arms of Jesus February 10, 1910. She was born January 9, 1889, and was married to James I Clayton February 28, 1909, making her stay on earth 21 years 1 month and 1 day. She was the daughter of P D and India Gammon of Indiana. She leaves a kind, heart-broken husband, a father and mother, eight brothers and two sisters to mourn their loss. She said, "Jim, don't weep for me, I am ready to go at any time." Our loss is her gain. She professed a hope in Christ in early life and lived a Christian life. She bore her affliction patiently. She never murmured or complained, but oh, she suffered so much; but her suffering is all over now, she is done ith the troubles and heartaches of this life. Oh, how hard it is to give up dear Myrtle, she was always so kind and had a kind word for all. She made her home happy. She was loved by all who knew her, but she is gone; we cannot see her sweet smiling face any more. All that loving hands could do was done for her. Dear husband, father and mother, brothers and sisters, father and mother-in-law and and children, we humbly pray the Lord to bless you with His grace, to help you bear your trouble and look forward to the time when you can meet her on the other shore, where you can be happy with your loved one forever. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord." We should try to be submissive to his will for He does all things well. While we are weeping for her she is sweetly resting in the arms of Jesus. Dear Myrtle was followed by loved ones with bowed heads and bleeding hearts to the churchyard at Olive Branch, where Elder J P Clayton, of the Primitive Baptish church, preached much to the comfort of the sorrowing ones. Then they tenderly deposited all that was mortal of her to await the ressurection morn. We would say weep not as for one that has no hope. We must bow in meek submission to Him who doeth all things well. [Signed] Ida and Daisy Clayton, Manitou, Ky.
