William Anderson Williams, 82, retired General Baptist minister, died Sunday noon at the home of his son, Daniel Williams, Pleasant View section, from infirmities following a lingering illness. Other survivors are three more sons, Cy, Henry and David Williams, all of Evansville and sister, Mrs. Kitty Rye, Madisonville. Funeral was conducted at 2 pm today at Mt. Todd Dies Mrs Ettie Todd, wife of the Rev. L L Todd, Slaughters, died at 3:50 pm Wednesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs Bob Nance, in Dixon. Besides the husband, Mrs Todd is survived by seven daughters, Mrs James Dixon, Mrs Timmons Owen, Mrs Jack Roach, Mrs Wade Marks, Mrs Joe Thompkins and Mrs Nance, all of Slaughters; Mrs Raymond Hopgood, Evansville; six sons, Edgar and I H Todd, Mt. Vernon, Ind; S E and John Todd, Henderson; Ott Todd, Evansville, and Ernie Todd, Madisonville, and a brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Friday at Mt. Gilead church, with the Rev. J E Hartford, 87, Slaughters, retired Methodist minister, who died Thursday afternoon, were conducted at 10 am Saturday at Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon. C J Carroll Claimed By Death Rev. C J Carroll, 62, retired Baptist minister, died in his home on Railroad street, Earlington, at 12:45 am today after an illness of two years of a spinal ailment. Rev. Carroll was born in 1883 in St. Charles, the son of the late Scott and Molly Carroll, and was called to the ministry twenty-seven years ago. He served churches in Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Webster, Todd, Logan and Caldwell counties until illness forced his retirement. Prior to his ministry he was connected with the St. Bernard Coal Company for several years in various capacities. In 1900 he married Miss Cora Egbert and moved to Earlington. He had been a resident of Hopkins county all his life. Funeral 2 PM Friday Besides the widow, survivors include three sons, Gilbert, Albert and Herbert, all of Earlington; four sisters, Mrs George Smith, Mrs Vurce McGregor and Mrs Dave Smith, all of St. Charles, and Mrs Cleve Farmer, Monroe, Neb; two brothers, B A Carroll, Central City, and John Carroll, St. Charles; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The remains were taken from Reid Funeral Home, Earlington, to the Carroll home in Earlington this morning and will remain there until services are conducted at 2 pm Friday in Earlington Christian church. Rev. Charley Howard, Baptist minister of Henderson, will officiate, assisted by Rev. O B Clark, pastor of Earlington General Baptist church. Burial will be in Grapevine cemetery. W W Oakley, 80, who had pastored many Baptist churches in western Kentucky, died Tuesday at Hedges Nursing Home in Oakland City, Ind. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Johnnie Oakley; a son, two daughters, five grandchildren, a brother, Charles Oakley, Madisonville; and two sisters, Mrs Bessie Vanvactor and Mrs Neville Scroggins, Madisonville.
