Bruce of Jeffersontown was conducted from the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Walter E. Lawrenson of St. Matthews in charge, and burial was in Resthaven Cemetery. Mr. Bruce had been ill only two days and his death came as a grave shock to family and friends. The drawing of a tooth Wednesday caused the initial trouble and complications quickly developed. Upon the advice of the attending physicians Dr. J. A. Bishop and E.L. Henderson, the patient was taken to the Kentucky Baptist Hospital on Thursday but skilled care failed to effect a cure and he passed Friday night. A member of the local Christian church, Mr. Bruce had been an automobile salesman for many years and was connected with the Monarch Auto Company at the time of his death. Surviving besides the mother are a brother, Raymond Bruce, and two sisters, Miss Esma Bruce and Mrs. Mabel Jean, all living in Jeffersontown.
