Contributed by Pat45324@aol.com Date: 24 Sept 2000 ***************************************************************************** Mary Evelyn Durbin, 77, of New Haven died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997 at Federal Hill Manor Nursing Home. She was a native of Jefferson County, a former resident of Athertonville and a member of the New Haven Senior Citizens Club, St. Catherine Church in New Haven and the St. Catherine Alter Society. She was the daugher of the late Charles Oscar and Elizabeth Lee Bradley Durbin. She was preceded in death by a sister Hanna Frances Durbin, and two brothers, Charles and Bobby Durbin. She is survived by three sisters, Rose Carr of Louisville, Verna Mae Courtney of Hodgenville and Elizabeth Durbin of Spring City, Tenn.; two brothers, J.O. Durbin of New Haven and Frank Durbin of Fern Creek; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church. Bishop J. Kendrick Williams will serve as chief celebrant. Father Clarence Howard will be concelebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation began at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven at 11 a.m. Sunday. St. Catherine Alter Society held a rosary service at 4 p.m.. Sunday, followed by a 7 p.m. parish wake service at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Nelson County, 111 N. Third Street, Bardstown, Ky., 40004.
