Heil, 71, died Saturday at his home. He was the retired owner and operator of Bill Heil's Gulf Service Station, a parts and purchasing coordinator for the James Cash Machine Co., and a former employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors: his wife, the former Connie Waidlein; two daughters, Connie Gefcheidt of Boca Raton, Fla., and Judi Christopher, of Ekron; two sons, Nick Heil of Shelbyville and Byron William Heil of Jeffersonville, Ind.; a brother, Joseph A. Heil of Winchester; and six grandchildren. Funeral, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 10801 Deering Road. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Visitation: Ratterman's Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Memorial gifts: Hospice of Louisville and Father Kenneth M. Waller Memorial Education Fund at the church. John J. Howell died Saturday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was in advertising at Louisville Magazine and an Army veteran. Survivors: his wife, Anne Howell; and two daughters, Courtney R. and W. Bronson Howell, both of Washington, D. C. The body will be cremated. Willhite-Ballard Funeral Home in Middletown is handling arrangements. Memorial gifts: American Cancer Society.
