State's First Negro Lawyer Dies, Aged 75
   Louisville, Ky., Jan. 31 -- N.R. Harper, 75, first negro admitted to the
Kentucky bar, and long a leader of his race, died of pneumonia.  He as
admitted to the bar in 1873.
