On Friday before Xmas, our town was saddened by the news of the unexpected death of 
Mr. W. L. McGee, who had been at Baptist Hospital for operation from which he rallied 
and was thought in no immediate danger, when death came sudden.  Mr. McGee was cashier 
of the Peoples Bank here for years, he was a good citizen also a splendid christian 
man, who knew how to pray was, Supt. of the Baptist S.S. for years, he was devoted to 
his wife and family and loyal to his friends and neighbors all who willl miss him.  To 
these we extend our heartfelt sympathy.

Later on during the holidays Mrs. Sue Showaters passed quietly away, being sick only a 
few days of pneumonia, a dear good woman, friend and neighbor of this town is gone.  

She leaves a husband, who is an invalid and a son, Coleman Showaters, a business young 
man of the city to mourn her loss.  the entire community will miss the sweet quiet 
life she has lived.
