A native of Leeds, England, and practicing pharmacist in this area for 60 years, Ernest Oatey, 87, died at 7 a.m. today at Jeffersontown. Oatey owned a drugstore at Bardstown Road and Longest Avenue for many years. In recent years he has been a druggist at Jeffersontown. He came to this country at 16 and graduated from the Louisville College of Pharmacy with honors in 1890. A Mason, Oatey is survived by a niece, Mrs. Bruce Hoblitzell, Sr.; nephews, Ernest Forbes, Danville, and Walter Forbes, Louisville. The body is at the Myers Funeral Home in Jeffersontown where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday; burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
