Submitted by: Pat45324@aol.com Date: 20 Nov 2000 ********************************************************************** Donated by Marion Small (smallrichm@aol.com) from "Aunt Mary's Scrapbook. Since God in His infinite wisdom called home our dear friend and fellow-member, Mrs. J.R. Shacklette on the evening of July 28, 1953, we, the members of the Woman's Missionary Society of Fourth Avenue Baptist Church, of Louisville, Kentucky, desire to express to the family and to put on record a statement of our high regard and affection for her. Mrs. Shacklette was a faithful member and tireless worker in many capacities. She had served as teacher of the Woman's Bible Class and as President of the Woman's Missionary Society. Whenever asked to help in any way, if it were physically possible, Mrs. Shacklette's answer was always "yes." Her cheery smile and her pleasing manner will be missed but her memory will ever be present. We knew Mrs. Shacklette also as a faithful and devoted wife, mother, and sister. She gave of herself unstintingly and sacrificially to her own and to all who called upon her. We wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to those dear ones in their time of sorrow, but we wish to remind them that their loved one has just gone on to be with her Lord and there to await their coming . We have the promise that although "weeping may endure for a night, joy cometh in the morning." -- Mrs. George H. Weise, Mrs. J. Mittlebeeler.
