Mrs. Mattie (nee McCrocklin); passed away in her 86th year, Saturday, December 4, 
1948, at 2:30 a.m. at the residence of her daughter Mrs. James McAlister, Sr., 
Finchville, Ky., residence 1955 Richmond Dr.  Beloved mother of Mr. Morris Straughan, 
Charlestown, Ind., Mrs. James McAlister, Finchville, Mrs. Vic Jackson, Louisville, 
Mrs. Pam Grubb, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lil Bit Cumming, Miami , Fla.; also survived by 
her 5 grandchildren, John Dale, Ralph Jackson, Mrs. Willilam Laufenburg, Miss Patti 
Reed, Miss Glena Straughan.  Services for Mrs. Straughan will be held in the Arch L. 
Heady Funeral Home, Oak and Shiller Ave., at 1:30 p.m. Monday.  Interment at 
Charlestown, Ind.

     Mrs. Mattie Straughan, 86, of 1955 Richmond Drive, died at 2:30 a.m.  yesterday at the home of a 
daughter, Mrs. James McCalister, Finchville, Ky.
     Three other daughters, Mrs. Victor Jackson, Louisville; Mrs. Fam Grubbs,  Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lilliam 
Cummins, Miami; and a son, Morris Straughan,  Charlestown, Ind., survive.  Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. 
tomorrow at Arch L.  Heady Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Charlestown, Ind., Cemetery.
