STROCKSDILL, William James, was b. 4 April, 1847 in Russell Co.Ky, and he died on 27 July, 1915 on the farm of his Rufus M. Stroxtile and family in Jefferson County. He served in the Civil War in Company "K", Reg.of the Mtd Infantry. On 21 Dec. 1866 he married Nancy Ann Macklin in Somerset Ky. They lived in Somerset for almost twenty years and then moved up to Columbus In. They had eight children. His wife preceded him in death on 24 Jan. 1909 in the home of thier daughter , Mrs. Nancy Siefried in New Albany. William came to live with his son and family after 1912 and died there at 3 in the afternoon of July 27. He was buried in Penn Runn Cemetery in Louisville Ky.. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*! He was born 4 April, 1841 in Russell County, KY. His wife, Nancy Macklin Stroxtile had preceded him in death on 24 Jan. 1909. William was buried in Penn Runn Cemetery. He had served in the Civil War with the Union, in the 30th Mtd. Infantry, Co. "K"", and had received a pension. Wm and Nancy had 2 sons and 5 daughters, all who used the surname of Stroxtile.
