He had received the AbioCor artificial heart in a May 24 surgery. He was the 14th recipient of the soft-ball-sized pump which is made of plastic and titanium and powered by batteries. He was the only AbioCor patient still living with the device. Born: Barren Co KY Son of the late Walter and Martha Williams Wiley Retired farmer, had been employed by National Brush and B. R. Retreads in Glasgow. US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, member Peters Creek Baptist Church.
