Nichquolas Dawon Beasley, of 4111 Sunflower Ave., died at 8:47 a.m. Saturday at University of Louisville Hospital, said Louisville police Sgt. Jim Woosley. Beasley was shot in the upper part of the body, Woosley said. Woosley said that police could not release more information but that an investigation is continuing. Beasley was a phlebotomist at Audubon Regional Medical Center, a member of the Army Reserve and a student at the University of Louisville. His survivors include his parents, Valerie L. and Melvin F. Beasley; a sister, Courtney M. Beasley; a brother, Melvin Simmons; and his grandparents, Melvin Beasley, Anna Beasley and Oreada Taylor. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1349 Catalpa St., with burial in Green Meadows Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at W.P. Porter Mortuary, 2611 Virginia Ave., from 2 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
