From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 1 July 2002 LOUISVILLE -- Patsy M. Ely, 86, of Louisville died Friday. Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Mary Pink Fox McGirr. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of Senior Jewels group and sang in the senior choir. Survivors include her husband, John J. Ely; a son, Tom Ely; a daughter, Mary Lou Goldsmith; two brothers, Ben Reynolds of Moreland and Jim Reynolds of Lexington; her caregiver, Connie Blessitt; four grand- children; and four great-grandchildren. Services were today at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Entombment was in Evergreen Mausoleum. Embry-Bosse Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
