The mishap occurred Thursday. He was a native of Jefferson County, a former resident of Lyons Station and a retired auto mechanic and salvage yard operator. He was the son of the late Owen Hornback and Blanche Hazelwood Hornback LaFollette. He was preceded in death by a son, David Hornback. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Diane Hornback of Lyons Station; a son, Kenneth Hornback of Bardstown; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Deloris "Skippy" Vittitow and Betty Ritchie, both of Lyons Station, Leonia Nichols of Louisville, Geneva Brewer of Tennessee; three brothers, Howard Hornback of New Haven, Edward Hornback of Louisville and Dan William LaFollette of Boston (KY). Funeral services will be announced later by the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. Funeral services for Marvin Hornback, 85, of New Haven, were 2 p.m. Sunday at Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home. Burial was in Edlin Creek Cemetery in LaRue County. Hornback died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at University Hospital in Louisville from injuries received when he was hit by a truck on Highway 52 in New Haven. Pallbearers include Kevin, Tony, Bob, Ray and Tom Hornback and John CundiffJoseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven was in charge of arrangements.
