Miss Angela Curran was host at a dinner party given inhonor of the bride at the home of Miss Curran in Louisville Tuesday evening June 21. Miss Margaret Arnold entertained with a miscellaneous shower given Miss Money June 23rd at Mis Arnold's home in Louisville. Mesdames J.J. Allen, Wm. Coslow, and Arle Money were hosts at a miscellaneous shower given at Mrs. Coslow's home in Louisville. Fifty three guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. V. Money entertained the bridal party at dinner Friday evening at their home in Wilsonville. The wedding of Miss Eugenia Money and Mr. Thomas Monroe Pope was solemnized at 8 o'clock Saturday evening in the Elk Creek Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rt. Rev. Frank Hardy, Canon of the Episcopal Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. Money of Wilsonville and the groom is a son of Mrs. Tillie Pope of Mississippi. Mrs. W.S. Coslow, sister of the bride, was mtron of honor, and Misses Mary Heizer of Lexington, Angela Curran, Margaret Arnold and Maud Elizabeth Thomas of Louisville were bridesmaids. Mr. LeRoy Pope of Memphis Tennessee brother of the groom served as best man. Messrs. Thomas Edward Money, Samuel and Henry Mashburn and BradleyTurner of Louisville were ushers. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Moody of Bardstown sang "Sweet Mystery of Love" and " Beloved It Is Morn." She was accompanied by Mrs. W.W. Booles who presided at the organ. The march to the alter was made to the accompaniment of the sweet strains of Lohengrin's Wedding March. The ribbon bearers little Misses Gene Allen Money in yellow embroidered organdie, Jane Money in blue embroidered organdie, and Guthrie Wilson and Bobby Money in crepe de chene blouses and flannel trousers led. The ushers were next and formed an aisle down which the matron of honor came followed by the brides maids and little flower girls, Misses Alice Scott Money in pink ruffled organdie and Elizabeth Allen Shelburne, in green ruffled organdie who carried French baskets of rose petals which they scattered in the bride's path. The bride wore a gown of white bridal satin made on princess lines and carried a shower bouquet of brides roses and baby's breath. Her French tulle veile arranged in cap effect and held by a garland of orange blossoms formed the train. She entered the church on the arm of her brother Mr. Arle C. Money who gave her in marriage, her train being held by little Miss Dorothy Littlejohn dressed in ... organdie. The matron of honor was gowned in dotted French net over orange satin with taffeta sash. Miss Mary Heizer was charming in gown of yellow organdie with blue sash. Miss Maude Elizabeth Thomas of Louisville wore a dainty frock of pink organdie with blue sash. Miss Angela Curran of Louisville was daintily gowned in a green organdie with pink sash. Miss Margaret Arnold of Louisville was very attractive in a blue organdie with pink sash. Each bridesmaid carried a corsage of sweet peas, baby's breath and ...trigaria. Mrs. Money mother of the bride wore a gown of black lace and carried a corsage of roses and baby breath. Mrs. Pope, mother of the groom was gowned in gray lace and carried a corsage of roses and baby's breath. Mrs. Arle Money wore a gown of baby blue chiffon. Mrs. J.J. Allen's gown was ashes of roses georgette, Mrs. Frank Wilson's was pink georgette over pink satin, Mrs. Le Roy Pope's, white dotted French net over white satin. Guests from a distance were Messrs and Mesdames Henry Brady, Humphrey Thomas and Will Hoke of Louisville, Chas Beard Thurman of Jacksonfille, Tennessee, Ray Money, Claude Cozine of Shelbyville, Mesdames Robert Laufer and daughter Della Thurman of Louisville. W...Duval and Kate Lewis of Bardstown, Misses Julia Bevins, Robert Money and son, Ed. Kreutzer of Louisville and Oscar Stanley fo Bardstown. The church was artistically decorated with palms, ferns and Madonna lilies. Tall cathedral candles were on the alter and candalabra bearing lighted tapers flanked the sides of the alter. This is the third wedding to be solemnized in the Elk Creek church though it is more than a half century old and the fact that in all three of these weddings a member of the Money family was a principal only makes the matter more interesting. Mr. and Mrs. Pope left immediately after the ceremony and will be at home in Louisville where Mr. Pope has a position with Ballard & Ballard Co.
