Will Book 2 p. 2 In the name of God Amen I THOMAS STAFFORD of Jefferson County Kentucky calling to mind the mortality of the body and that it is once appointed for all men to die do make and constitute this my last will and testament Viz that is I commit my Soul to God and my body to be decently buried at the direction of my Executors. As for what worldly property it hath pleased God to endow me with I dispose of in the manner and form following. First. I will and bequeath to my wife EVE her STAFFORD her beds and bedding, all her wearing apparel, all her household furniture of Every Kind, also the roan mare now my property also her riding Saddle and two milk cows to hold the same or dispose of at her pleasure. Secondly I will and bequeath to my Son JOHN STAFFORD the plantation I now live on with all its appurtenances provided he lives till after my decease but if he should die before me I allow the aforesaid plantation to be sold and divided equally amongst my children namely BENJAMIN STAFFORD, ELIZABETH BISHOP, SARAH WARD, MARY NEWKIRK, MARY SLIGER, THOMAS STAFFORD, MARTHA YOUNG and SUSAN CURRY, Share and share alike provided Such a dividend should take place the part arising from such or coming to the aforesaid SARAH WARD is to be put out to interest until her son JAMES WARD and ELIZABETH WARD comes to years of maturity when they are to receive the same for their proper use. Thirdly I allow the half of the waggon and half of the wind mill, one third of the Stock of hogs, all now my property to be sold and the money arising from the Sale of the aforementioned property with my notes, Bonds and Book accounts to be divided equally amongst my children namely BENJAMIN STAFFORD, ELIZABETH BISHOP, SARAH WARD, MARY NEWKIRK, MARGARET SLIGER, THOMAS STAFFORD, MARTHA YOUNG and SUSANNA CURRY Share and Share alike - Fourthly: I allow my wife to have her maintenance of my Plantation during her natural life likewise her Stock to be maintained as before mentioned. Fifthly and lastly I appoint my sons JOHN STAFFORD, BENJAMIN STAFFORD and THOMAS STAFFORD to Execute this my last will and testament revoking all former Wills and testaments y me made.
