Young Harrison Daniel. Harrison Daniel was for many years one of the most prominent citizens of Jessamine county. He was the grandson of Col. John Price, and born in 1790. His father, John Daniel, was a native of Orange county, Virginia, and came to Kentucky in the year 1787. He was related to the Daniels in the northern neck of Virginia, and family history says that he served in the army of General Washington at Brandywine, Trenton and Monmouth. He settled on Marble creek and here his son was born. In the early history of Kentucky Mr. Daniel was a useful and important character. He was High Sheriff and represented Jessamine county in the legislature in 1826. He possessed extraordinary mathematical talents. His son, William Daniel, went to the Mexican war in the company of Captain Willis. He had a wonderful faculty for making and keeping friends, and many of his descendants still remain in Jessamine county, whose people then ancestor so faithfully served.
