Born October 19, 1926 in Paintsville, Kentucky, he was the son of Vern and Myrtle (McFadden) Conley. He was a member at the Stiving Road Free Will Baptist Church, faithfully serving as deacon for 39 years. He was active in the church and was also respected and active in the Northern Ohio Church Conference. Mr. Conley served in the United States Army and retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the light of his life was his grandson, Austin. Mr. Conley was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and was faithful to his God, church, and friends. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, whom he married on December 12, 1953, Selvinlene “Sib” Conley; one daughter, Reatta Cole of Mansfield; special grandson and fishing buddy, Austin Cole of Mansfield; four brothers, Robert Earl “Bob” Conley of Staffordsville, Kentucky, George Conley of Staffordsville, Kentucky, Harold Conley of Hager Hill, Kentucky, and Bill Conley of Paintsville, Kentucky; one sister, JoAnn VanHoose of Paintsville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Clifford Conley; and sister, Betty Stableton. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday February 21, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Stiving Road Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Brian A. Phillips, Rev. Harold Conley, and Rev. Tim Stout officiating.
