She died suddenly from a heart attack. Mrs. Lucas was born July 23, 1884, at Wellston, Ohio. She came to this section from Bickwell, Ind., and has lived here five years. Funeral services were in charge of Rev. Guy W. Preston, of Paintsville, and Rev. West of Bickwell, Ind. Burial was made in the Stafford Cemetery near West Van Lear. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. Besides her husband, James Lucas, she is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Stanley Crain and Mrs. Harry McCarty, both of Van Lear. Mrs. Lucas was held in the highest esteem by neighbors and friends in her community.
