She had been active until a few days before her death. Mrs. Newsom was born in Perry County on December 18, the daughter of the late Frank and Polly Ann Engle. She was united in marriage to Jarvie Newsom on December 15, 1899, and to this union was born eleven children, five of whom preceded her in death. She had been a member of the Holiness Church since 1917, and she lived a faithful, exempliary Christian life. Surviving besides her husband, are three sons, Noah, Columbus, Ohio, Charley and George, city, Willie at home, and two daughters, Mrs. Anzie Copher, Owingsville, Ky., and Mrs. Kathleen May, city. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Grove Church by Rev. Bud Wiley. Interment was made in the family cemetery at Hager Hill under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
