H. MEYER was born in Schwagstorf, Amt Furstenau, Kingdom of Hanover, Germany, in 1815, and is a son of Henry and Ctaherine [sic] (Rolfes) Meyer, of Germany. H. H. Meyer was educated in Germany, and immigrated to America in 1836. He first settled in Cincinnati, where he engaged in making turnpikes for five years; from there he went to Covington, Ky., where he worked as a stone- mason for two years, after which he worked in the City National Bank, attending to all the outside business for fourteen years; he has been agent for R. E. Grosbeck, in Philadelphia, Penn., for property in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kentucky, for forty years. In 1840 he married Antionette Francisca Rehling, a native of Germany, born in Alfhausen, Amt Berstenbrick, in 1815, and who died in 1873, leaving three children: Lizzie (wife of Henry Duval, of Covington), Kate and Mary. Mr. Meyer is a member of the Mother of God Catholic Church, and treasurer in the church for seven years, and in politics is a Democrat.
