Thomas P. Thornton was born in Virginia in 1801. He or his family had moved to Covington, then Campbell County, sometime before 6 SEP 1824, when he married Frances Hambrick. They had several children, according to the 1850 census. Those children being Thomas Dudley Thornton, Benjamin Franklin Thornton, Sophia M. Thornton, and Tiberius Thornton. There might have also been another daughter, as there is a 20-year old, last name Holly, and her two year old, living with them as well in the census. Thomas Dudley Thornton was born 23 SEP 1827, and married Julia Huston 17 MAR 1852, across the river in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sometime in 1854, the family moved to Fremont County, Iowa. Benjamin died soon after, in 1854. Thomas P. and Frances died later, in 1856. All three are buried together in Sidney Cemetary, there in Fremont County. I will add more, as I am able to locate more.
