Courthouse, Will Bk. #1, pgs. 262-263 Last Will and Testament of Lucy M. Sandford I am of sound mind and disposing memory and make this my last will and testament. I desire my Executors to see my house and buggy and cow and new feather beds, and bedding if I shall not have disposed of them in my lifetime for the benefit of my sons Thomas R. and Edmund B. Sandford. 2. I devise two beds and bedding and bed cloths which are marked in the names of these sons. 3. all the balance of my household furniture including silver and cupboard ware and my Kitchen Furniture I devise my Executors to sell for the benefit of all my children Equally and my Executors are directed to divide the proceeds among them accordingly. 4. all the money that I may have when I die and all that can be collected on the claims which I may leave shall be had for the benefit of my sons, Thomas R. and Edmund B. Sanford and should either of them die before he is twenty one years old all that he may be entitled to according to this will shall go to his brother the survivors of the said two sons. 5. I hereby appoint my son in law W. W. Taylor and my son Alfred P. Sandford the guardians of my sons Thomas R. and Edmund B. Sandford if they be infants when I die and Trustees to hold the estate which is hereby given to these infants for their benefit and if in the exercise of a reasonable discretion by these trustees they consider that more is necessary for the education and support of the younger than is required for the elder of the boys they are directed to act accordingly and on that account then shall be on difference in the amount to be given to my son when the time arrives for a division between thereunder this will & appoint the said trustees the Executors of this will. 6. at the age of twenty one years either of my sons Thomas R. or Edmund B. Sandford shall receive whatever is given him by this will. July 1856 we hereby witness the signing of Lucy M. Term Dec. 15, 1856. The forgoing writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Lucy M. Sandford, dec’d was produced in court for probate and thereupon F. L. Sandford one of the subscribing witnesses thereto appeared and being sworn stated that Lucy M. Sandford the testator signed the same and also C. B. Sandford in the presence of the testator and at the request whereupon the same was established and ordered to be recorded which has been done according. Att: E. J.
