He was born on July 10, 1951 in Knott County, Kentucky to the late Edgle and Goldie (Compton) Collins and had been a resident of Willard the majority of his life. He retired as a Production Tech from Pepperidge Farms in April of 2005 after 25 years of service. He is a member of the Victory Temple Church of God in Celeryville and enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball and baseball. He was very active in archery shooting and trap shooting. Herman loved his family, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Shiena (Slone) Collins whom he wed on July 10, 1993; his son, Shawn Collins of Fostoria; his daughter, Stacia Collins of Willard; two step daughters, Jennifer Yost of Willard and Carrie Oney of Willard; three grandsons, Isaiah Patterson, Dylan Yost and Ashton Ames all of Willard; his sister, Pricilla Hall of Plymouth; and two brothers, David Bolen of Plymouth and Virgil Collins of Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call at the Victory Temple Church of God on SR 103 in Celeryville, Ohio on Thursday, Nov 2, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Earl Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
