Greenberry Foley was born in Knox County Ky. on Nov.11,1816 and died April 17,1898. He was the son of Spencer and Nancy Rector Foley of Knox County, and the grandson of Rev. Moses Foley,Sr. of Knox Co.Ky. He married Anna (Annie)Engle of Knox County. To this union were 10 known children: Phillip E. Foley, Lydia Foley, Malinda Foley, Spencer Foley, Nancy Ann Foley, Mary Frances Foley, James Foley, Wm. Green Foley, Franklin Pearson Foley, and Parks Daniel Foley. Rev. Greenberry Foley was pastor of the Indian Creek Baptist Church of Knox County from July 1861 to April 1890. His son, Rev. Phillip E. Foley follows his father as pastor of Indian Creek Baptist Church from 1890 to April 1897. Rev. Greenberry and Anna Engle Foley, along with several other member's of this family are buried at the Indian Creek/Chance Cemetery near Woodbine, Ky.
