BAKER, SR., age 83, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 28, 2007 in the Oak Tree Hospital. He was born April 25, 1924 and was the son of the late Chester and Ollie Crook Baker. David was a Veteran of the United States Army, 100st Airborne Division, serving his country in World War II. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Campbell Baker on February 18, 2007 and a sister, Bucilla Millen. Survivors are two sons, David E. Baker, Jr. of Corbin and Roger Baker (Linda) of Ellijay, Georgia; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three nephews; a special friend, Louise Bryant; and a host of family and friends who mourn his passing. Visitation was from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM, Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Corbin Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8:30 PM. The Reverend Bobby Joe Eaton officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery at Corbin, Knox County, Kentucky. Corbin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
