Rachel Ellen Martin (Mrs. Rachel Black), Gray, died Tuesday night at the 
Southeastern Kentucky Baptist Hospital. 

She was a member of the Piney Baptist Church. The funeral services wil be 
conducted at 2PM Friday at the Hart Funeral Home by the Rev. A.J. Cupp and the 
Rev. Wesley Shotwell. 

Burial will be in the Black Cemetery at Gray by the Hart Funeral Home. She is 
survived by her husband C.F. Black, three grandsons Sgt Claude Sears, Corbin, 
Wilbur M.Sears, Bristol, Tenn, and CPO C.F. Sears, U.S. Navy; one grand- 
daughter Mrs Wilma Jean Kelly of Detroit, Michigan, and one brother C.A. 
Martin, Corbin. The body will remain at the home where friends may call after 
1PM Thursday.

Charles Frank Black and Rachel Ellen Martin were married on November 8, 1916 in 
Gray Gray recorded in Book A/4 Page 28 at the Knox County Clerk's office, in 
Barbourville, Kentucky

According to her death cert, Rachel was born on September 27, 1891

She was the daughter of John Dalton Martin and Lucy Frances Johnson who married 
on February 16, 1891 in Campbell County, TN.
