Conyer, who died only five months ago, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 1911, at 2:20 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law, I.F. Threlkeld, near Levias. She was about 90 years of age, being one of the oldest women in the county and one of the longest residents here. She was born in Wilson county, Tenn., in 1821 and moved to this county in early womanhod. Mrs. Martha Ann Conyer, deceased mother of Q.M. Conyer of this city, was her sister and Mrs. Newt Brasher of Caldwell Springs is a half sister. She is survived by three sons, G.W. and T.M., of this city and J.H. of Levias and by one daughter, Mrs. Kate Threlkeld. She professed faith in early life but was not a member of any church. She owned the farm at the time of her death, which she had helped to clear and lived on for almost a half century. The interment was at Union Monday afternoon. Fritts, died Sunday night at 8:30 o'clock at her home between Mattoon and Repton. She was Miss McCormick and was born in Roane County, Tennessee March 22, 1832, and was therefore in her 83rd year. Her husband died 45 years ago and left her with a large famiy to care for and look after. She is survived by 7 children. Josiah, of Repton, Mary, wife of Eph Fulkerson, of Illinois, John A. Fritts of Repton, Mahalia, wife of P.C. Gilbert, of the county, Maggie, wife of Gail Ford of this county, Albert A. Fritts and Ida Fritts. The latter two living at home; neither being married. The funeral and interment was held Tuesday at noon at Crooked Creek cemetery, Rev. W.R. Gibbs officiating. She was a member of Crooked Creek church and had been for over fifty years. She was a kind hearted soul and was loved by a large circle of acquaintances. Peace to her ashes.
