Johnson, born April 23, 1854 at Crittenden County, Ky., passed away at the family residence at East Prairie Saturday, December 18, at 1:58 a.m. at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 25 days. Surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Jannie Johnson, four daughters, Mrs. Jim Miller, Mrs. Ted Ivie, Mrs. Milas Wallace, all of near East Prairie; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Gray of Neelyville and Mrs. Luella Harris of Hickman, Ky., one brother, Jenice Johnson of East Prairie, 37 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. The body was taken to the Shelby Mortuary early Saturday, then to the family residence where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Paul Presson, Sunday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. Interment at City Cemetery, Hickman, Ky. Hodge, aged 78, died at his home in San Antonia, Texas, on Sunday, June 28. The body arrived here Wednesday on the two o'clock train and was immediately taken to Mapleview Cemetery, and after a short funeral service, conducted by Rev. R.H. Wade, pastor of the Methodist Church, was interred. Mr. Hodge was born in Crittenden County and lived here until 25 years ago. He moved to Princeton, Ky., and from there to Louisville, and later to San Antonia, Texas, where he has lived until his death. He has been engaged in the insurance business since he was a young man. He married Miss Davey Northern, of Livingston County, who died about 6 years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. M.H. Erskine, of San Antonia, and Mrs. Alf Folsom, of Dallas, one son, Robert, of San Antonia, two sisters, Mrs. H.C. Moore of this city, Mrs. Sallie H. Jackson, of Princeton, and one brother, Twinkle Hodge, of Princeton and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hodge was a member of one of the oldest and most highly respected families in the county. Providence (KY) Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, September 8, 1955.=20 Mrs. Laura Cullen of Wheatcroft Dies Mrs. Laura Belle CULLEN, 98, one of Webster county's oldest citizens and a lifelong resident of Wheatcroft, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sturgis Hospital. She was taken to the hospital Sunday after she suffered a broken hip in a fall at her home in Wheatcroft. Mrs. Cullen, daughter of the late Sam Bratton WALLACE and Ann COX Wallace, who were among the first settlers of the community, was born June 4, 1857 in the house in which she spent her entire life.=20 She was married to Daniel Wallace and they had one daughter, Willie Wallace HUDSON, now deceased.=20 After Mr. Wallace's death she was married to A.E. Cullen, one of the founders of the town of Wheatcroft, who died in 1933. She was the oldest member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, of which her father was a charter member. =20 Mrs. Cullen had quite a reputation for her assistance to neighbors who were ill or in need in any way, and was called upon often for information concerning early history of the section and its pioneer families.=20 Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles F. JENKINS, Earlington, Miss Flora Cullen and Mrs. Kathryn Cullen DOSS, Wheatcroft; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. =20 The body is at the home in Wheatcroft. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rock Springs Church, with the Rev. Bob Wallace of Wheatcroft officiating, assisted by the Rev. Hughlan RICHIE of Earlington. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Compiler's note: A.E. Cullen, 1845-1933, is buried beside Laura B. in Rock Springs Cemetery, as is their daughter Flora B.
