He was 64 years old last Feb. 6th. He was a member of the Masons and also of the Methodist Church. His wife was Miss Ida Summers of Greenville, Ky. and she survives him, also two sons, the oldest, Robert Foster has a wife and baby. The younger one, named Ewell Summers, is about 20 years old and is still in school. Dr. Moore was born at Mattoon and was the son of the late R.L. Moore and is survived by one sister, Belle, wife of Gus. D. Summerville, and one brothers, R.L. Moore Jr, Judge of the Crittenden County Court. He has lived in the rich cotton belt of Arkansas and has visited here only occasionally, but is remembered and known to many of our older people. For many years he was a leading member of the M.E. Church and at the time of his death was Sec. and Treas. of the Sunday School. The burial was conducted with Masonic honor Friday at Cotton Plant, Arkansas, where he had lived many years. L.R. Wilson died at his home in Licking, MO Nov. 15 of heart disease, aged 70 years. He came to MO from Crittenden County, Ky. in 1868 and successfully followed the practice of medicine for many years. He served in the war as corporal in Co. A, 29th KY Volunteer Infantry. He was a charter member of Boone Post, No. 257, G.A.R. in Licking and was buried with honors of the order. Kennedy of Lola, a few days ago. He was a very old man - probably near 100 years old. Before 1846 he lived near the old Hurricane furnace in this county and there reared his family. In 1846 he moved to McCracken County and shortly afterwards to Livingston and then to Trigg County. A few yars ago he went to live with his son in Lola. Winn, a farm hand, met a horrible death in Caldwell County. He started out on a mule to plow when the mule became frightened and threw him. He hung in the trace chains and was dragged 200 yards. His right shoulder was crushed and his breast terribly mashed. Winn was raised near Clarksville, Tenn. He has a sister attending school in Lebanon, Ohio. His sister, Bettie, was stricken in the same manner 12 hours later and died in a few minutes. Monday they were buried side by side and while the funeral was in progress, Mary, another sister, was stricken down at the grave and lies at the point of death. They all lived together. Ex-U.S. Senator Willis B. Machen was taken to the asylum at Hopkinsville yesterday. He had a severe attack of la grippe last winter which affected his mind greatly and it has been gradually giving way ever since. He is about 82 years old. Willis Benson Machen was born April 5, 1810 in Caldwell County, Ky. His father, Henry Machen, was a farmer of that county for many years, being a native of South Carolina and coming to Ky. in 1809. He obtained a good education in the schools of his native country and in Cumberland College in Princeton, Ky. Rev. G.C. Sandusky conducted the services. Interment was in the Cloverport Cemetery. Charles Basham, Charles Matthews, Phil Henderson, Billy Matthews, Sargent Keenan, Lamar Ryan, and Harold Newman served as pallbearers. Dhonau Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Matthews, who was 83 years old, was born in Breckinridge County. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Matthews of Louisville; nine children, Perry Matthews of Nashville,; Rev. S.A.
