Jones, 73, died in the home of his son, Guy Jones, 33 North Scott Street, at 12:30 p.m. Friday following a long illness. Mr. Jones, connected with the coal mining industry for many years before ill health forced his retirement, was born in Macon, Tenn., and came to Madisonville more than 20 years ago. He was foreman for the former Reinecke Coal Company here for sometime. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World camp here. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ella Beshear Jones; a son, Guy Jones, 33 North Scott; a daughter, Mrs. William S. Miller, Louisville; three brothers, Ned and Herbert Jones, Westmoreland, Tenn., and Smith Jones, Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Medors and Mrs. Sam Jenkins, both of Westmoreland; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in William L. Barnett Funeral Service, East Center Street. The Rev. O.T. Nichols will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jeff Webb. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery. Mrs Zadie Long, 64, died at her home near here at 9:15 o'clock last night after a long illness. She was a charter member of the General Baptist church in Earlington. She is survived by her husband, Otha; one son, Ansel, of Earlington; one brother Lorenzo Burden, of Los Angeles, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Gough of Evansville, and Mrs. Noka Dexter, of Earlington, and one grandchild. The body was taken from the Reid funeral home to the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at the General Baptist church at Earlington at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. O.B. Clark, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. DeMoss, 77, of Madisonville, died at 5:30am Friday, June 30, 1995, at his residence. Born Aug. 8, 1917 in Hanson, he was the son of the late James Sherman DeMoss and Addie Rebecca Davis. He was a retired farmer and seam welder at the York Plant in Madisonville. He was a member of the Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and served with the US Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by one sister and eight brothers. He is survived by his wife, Willie Hazel Coffman DeMoss of Madisonville; four daughters, Patricia Anne DeMoss of Evansville, Rebecca Gail DeMoss and Mrs. Richard (Karen) LeGrand, both of Madisonville, and Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Harper of Harrisonburg, VA; one son Hiram Glenn DeMoss of Madisonville; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be today at 3:30pm in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Alvey officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville. Pallbearers will be Gary Seton, Terry Seton, Jim DeMoss, Ed DeMoss, Danny Coffman, Carroll LeGrand and Terry Hamp.
