Kirkwood, 83, formerly of Madisonville, died Feb. 8 in Woodlands Convalescent Center in Newburgh, Ind. She was a former employee of J.R. Corum and the Wadlingtons in Madisonville. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Walter Skaggs of Madisonville and Hickman Kirkwood of Evansville, Ind. and one grandson. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Carl (Eva) Wilson of Dawson Springs and Mrs. Ann Pattie of Evansville; one son, James Skaggs of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren ; three brothers; two sisters. Services were held Sunday, Feb. 10 at Ziemers Funeral Home in Evansville. Andrew W Stanley, 68, Nebo section farmer, died at 12:30 o'clock this morning at the Madisonville hospital where he underwent an operation Wednesday. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Aubrey mcCoy, Nebo; Mrs. Hazel Clayton, Providence, and Misses Myrtle and Bernie Stanley; brother, John Stanley, Nebo, and a sister, Mrs. Will Mangum, of the Manitou section. Kirkwood, 85, 567 W. Center St., died at 4:10 p.m. Friday at Reginal Medical Center in Madisonville. Born in Hopkins Co., he was a retired employee of the state highway department. He was also a member of the Nebo Masonic Lodge. His parents were the late Robert Lee and Della Brown Kirkwood. Surviving ar his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Tapp Kirkwood; a son Sidney of 922 Bell Drive; a grandaughter, Gale Travisof 508 S. Madison; a grandson, Jeff Kirkwood, of Natchez, Miss. two great grandsons, also of Natchez; a neice, Mrs. Grace Wooton of Nebo; and a cousin, Chester Brown of Madisonville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Suday from the chapel of Harris Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Chester Brown. Burial will be in Rose Creek Cemetery near Coiltown, Ky. Eldridge, 77 of 319 East Arch St. died at 10:45 pm. Sunday in Hopkins County Hospital after a 14 year illness. He had been a patient in the hospital many times during the 14 years, the last stay numbering eleven weeks. He was a retired coal weighman and until illness forced his retirement was employed by Vogue Mine of the Peabody Coal Company. He was a native of Tennessee. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Nannie M. Eldridge, two daughters Mrs. Clarence Edwards, 122 Virginia St, Madisonville; Mrs. Clarence DeMoss of Sturgis; two grandsons, James Allen and Michael Eldridge DeMoss, of Sturgis. The body is at Harris Funeral Home, where final rites will be held Wednesday at 2pm.
