DARRELL WAYNE "TOPMAN" OWEN Darrell Wayne "Topman" Owen, died Tuesday, April 8 at 10:37pm at his residence in Sturgis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Vineyard) Owen in 1996. Mr. Owen was a member of UMWA Local #1867 and a member of the Black Diamond C. B. Club. Survivors include three daughters, Mandy Finnie of Madisonville; Melinda Owen of Sturgis, and Marla Belt of Caseyville; two sons, Terry Owen of St. Mary's, KY., and Darrell Owen of Morganfield; one sister, Glenda Burchett of Eddyville; 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Services were at 2:00 Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Lane officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice. MELVIN DONALD "POOCHIE" RUARK Melvin Donald "Poochie" Ruard, 75, Uniontown, died Wednesday, April 6, at 7:15 am at his residence. Mr. Ruark was co-owner of Morganfield Stock Yard and served several terms on the Uniontown City Council. He was also a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty, two daughters, Donna Sherlock and Jacki Rurak, both of Knoxville, TN; two sons, Jerry of Morganfield, and Mel Ruark of Dallas, TX; one brother, Dorris Rurak of Morganfield; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Services were at 10am Friday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Mark Gallaway officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellow Cemetery. (personal note-the obit has the last name spelled 2 different ways, Ruark and Rurak, ) BILLY J. MASTERS Billy J. Masters, 44, Middlebourne, West Virginia, died April 4 at his residence. Survivors include his wife Naomi; five brothers, Carl of Sturgis, Ky, Dean of Canton, Ohio, Jack of Ravenna, Ohio, Kenneth of Sistersville, West Virginia, and Gary of Bepre, Ohio. Six sisters, Ruth Ann Griggs and Helen Daggett, both of Morietta, Ohio, Norma Doak of New Martinsville, WV., Carol Allemna of Sardis, Ohio, Tracy Ferguson of Middlebourne and Diane Nichols of Alma, West Virginia. Services were at 2pm Sunday at Furbee Funeral Home in Middlebourne with the Rev. Earl Fletcher officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. CLARENCE R. (DICKIE) FENWICK Clarence R. (Dickie) Fenwick, 46, Waverly, died Saturday at 11:55am at his residence. Survivors include two sisters, Janet Sue Hagan of Owensboro and May Kay Loxley of Morganfield; two brothers, Thomas M. Fenwick of Waverly and CharlesLee Fenwick of Louisville; 11 nieces and three nephews. Services were at 11am Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church near Waverly with Father Anthony Ziegler officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. HERBERT "TINY" WEDDING Herbert "Tiny" Wedding, 68, Henderson, died at 1:40pm Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. A member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, he was a retired rural mail carrier, having worked for 35 years. He was a member of Holy Name Men's Club, the American Legion 40 & 8, the Elks, the Moose Lodge, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Betty,; one daughter, Dessa Bray of Henderson; three sons, Jason Wedding and Thomas Wedding, both of Hendeson, and Michael Wedding of Maysville; two sisters, Anna Frields of Henderson and Elizabeth Rhea of Morganfield; three granddaughters; nieces and nephews. Services are noon today at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. John Thomas will officiate.
