Mr. Michael Judge was born in Boston, Mass., October 5, 1809, and died at his residence near Moorefield, Ky., May 12, 1893, in his 84th year of life. He was a citizen most highly respected by his neighbors, and his death is a great loss to his many friends and relatives. His first wife was Miss Elizabeth, of Montgomery Co., and to this union was born 7 children whom are all living. His last wife was Mrs. Julia A. Judge, near Carlisle, who still survives him. The last three or four years of his life were spent in intense suffering. He was paralyzed about three years ago, which rendered him completely helpless. He was a most patient sufferer and very seldom complained of his helplessness. And a man well read in the scriptures and delighted to talk of the hope he cherished of the house beyond. He was an ardent member of the Christian Church. How often do we look at his old arm chair and are vividly reminded of him, who so recently gave up his life of pain for one where is all joy and peace. When we think of this, out ?, but let his loved ones take comfort in the though that they have an opportunity of meeting him on the other shore. In Memory of ANDY ANDERSON, June 9, 1923 - April 28, 1997 Alden G. "Andy" Anderson was a steadfast and devoted husband and father. The gift of his life was reflected upon as his friends, relatives, and neighbors visited with his family in remembrance of Andy who died April 28, 1997. Born in Alexander, Minnesota, the son of Ada and Victor Anderson, Andy grew up on a farm in a family of three boys. Andy had a soft spot for Minnesota. Although he left his home state when he was a young man, he often visited there and stayed in touch with relatives and friends. During recent years Andy planned to return to Minnesota to live part of the year. However, his health was beginning to fail and his hopes did not reach fruition. During World War II Andy worked for a construction company building some of the structures needed for the war effort. While working in Mount Vernon, IN Andy met a young lady named Verdie Owens. Their friendship developed into a romance and they were soon married. Their family included two sons, Joe and Gary, and one daughter, Debbie. The Anderson's celebrated as they welcomed four grandchildren, one great grandson into the family fold. Andy and Verdie were blessed with 48 years of marriage. During their early years of marriage, Andy and Verdie traveled to construction sites around the country. Pulling a trailer behind their car, they stayed in many different communities while Andy worked at the construction job. Their lifestyle was great fun for them. They were young and adventurous and they saw almost the whole county while enjoying life in a care free manner. After extensive traveling, Andy and Verdie decided it was time to settle down. Evansville, Indiana became home to them and they continued living there for the remainder of their lives. After returning to Evansville, Andy began working for Arkla Preway Industries. Endowed with a strong work ethic and loyalty to his employer, Andy worked for Arkla for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of The International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. After many years of hard work Andy and Verdie began to enjoy their retirement. Andy's family said that he and Verdie had a wonderful life together. They liked the same activities and did everything together. One of Andy's favorite activities was gardening. He took special pride in his vegetable and flowers gardens. Everybody who knew Andy had a generous supply of vegetables during the summer months because Andy shared his bountiful harvest with all of his friends. Gary said his dad kept the lawn manicured and that he had one of the prettiest lawns. When Verdie's health began to fail Andy was her tender, loving care giver. Devoted to her throughout their marriage, it seemed that Andy went the extra mile for his beloved Verdie. Sadly, Verdie died January 17, 1997. Life was never the same for Andy and his health was also beginning to fail. Andy's son, Gary, became the care giver for his father. Gary had also helped with the care of his mother. Fortunately for Andy, Gary rendered the same loving care for his father that his father had lovingly given to his mother. Just a few months after Verdie's death, Andy died peacefully after a long and productive life. We will remember Andy for his generosity and his warm and tender love for his family. We are grateful that Andy enriched our lives and made our world a better place. Let us keep the memories of Andy forever in our hearts.
