Next item: Mrs. Catharine Wickliffe the widow and relict of Arington Wickliffe deceased appeared in court and refused under the Last will and Testament of her late husband deceased to take upon herself the executorship thereof. On the motion of Isaac Wickliffe and David Oates who made oath as the law directs certificate is granted them for obtaining letters of Administration on the estate of said decendant. Who thereupon together with HUTSON MARTIN, RANDALL DAVIS and NACHEL DILLINGHAM their securities entered into and acknowledged their bonds in the penalty of $8000 conditioned as the law directs. Deed Book ?(1823)-- p. 425 and 426 This Indenture made this 30th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twwenty three Between ANN WICKLIFF, late Ann LOGAN Heir of BENJAMIN LOGAN deceased of the one part and (to)Nathaniel WICKLIFF of the other part. Witnesseth that whereas the above named Ann Wickliff formerly Ann Logan as one of the Heirs of Benjamin Logan decased owns as one of the Heirs of said Benjamin Logan deceased five hundred Sixty two and a half acres of land in Ohio County being one Eighth part of Four Thousand five hundred acres (this being a part of a tract entered in the name of W. DANIEL and pattented to N. MERIWETHER and lying on or near GREEN RIVER; also that the said kAnn is entitleted to & owns aforesaid fifty eight and 3/8 acres of land lying in Ohio county on or near Green River being one Eighth of a tract of land entered and surveyed in the name of B. In the name of god Amen I Arington Wickliff of Muhlenberg County and state of Kentucky being sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God calling to mind the morratity of Body and knowing that it is appoi8nted for all men once to die Do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of the almighty god that gave it and my Body I Recommend to the earth to be Buried in a decent Christain Burial at the discretion of my executors. The 7th Cav was formed in August 1862, mustered in at Paris, KY. I will be added the other companies in the future. Company H is important because my 4GGF, William Perry BAKER served in this unit.
