Obits on page 2. TOMMY R. RICKETTS Tommy R. Ricketts, 55, Sturgis, died Sunday at 9:55 am at his residence from natural causes. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Ricketts, who died Dec. 13, 1997. Survivors include two sons, Wesley Ricketts of Sturgis, and Tony Ricketts of Henderson; one sister, Shelia Walker of Morganfield; three grandchildren, Raeley, Kelsie,and Thomas Ricketts. Services were at 1pm Tuesday at Whitsell Funeral Home with Bro. Pete Hedgepath officiating. Burial was in Caseyville Cemetery. (Personal note- His wife's obit appeared in the Dec. 17, 1997 issue of The Sturgis News. He was found slumped over the kitchen table. Once again , Bro. Pete Hedgepath is the son of Bobby Hedgepath, Bobby would be a brother in law to Tommy Ricketts) JAMES H. BONDURANT James H. Bondurant, 89, La Center, KY, died Thursday at 5:20am at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rachael; one son, Gene Bondurant of Sturgis; one daughter, Thelma Patterson of Greenfield, TN; three grandchildren, Blake Bondurant of Sturgis, Grenata Patterson & Phil Patterson of Greenfield, TN; and one great grandchild, Caleb Patterson of Greenfield. Services were Saturday at 2pm at Morrow Funeral Chapel of LaCenter. Burial was in Morrow Funeral Chapel. ADDIE GIBSON Addie Christine Gibson, 80, Morganfield, died Monday, Dec. 22nd at her home. She was a member of Bowman Chapel CME Church. Survivors include five daughters, Parthenia Lewis of Harrisburg, PA, Gloria Faye Calhoun and Vivian Tubbs, both of Morganfield, Betty L. Swanson of Indianapolis and Yvonne Rochelle Burks of Sturgis; and two sons, James P. Jr. of Harrisburg and Marvin Ray of Morgafield. Services were at 1pm Saturday at Carr's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in St. Ann Church Cemetery. WILLIAM RAY JACKSON SR. William Ray Jackson Sr., 57, Uniontown, died Tuesday, Dec. 23rd at his residence in Uniontown. Mr. Jackson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Survivors include his wife, Paulette Jackson, three daughters, Sharon Carrier of Eldorado, IL., Linda Westerman of Uniontown, Brenda Green of Sullivan and one step daughter, Beverlee Pemberton of Uniontown; two sons, William Ray Jackson Jr. of Uniontown, and Steve Allen Jackson of Morganfield, ; two step sons, Eric Pemberton of Sturgis, and Bryon Pemberton of Uniontown; six sisters, Mary Florence Mueller of Burlington, NJ., Geraldine Tilson of Hammond, IN, Linda Hicks of Terre Haute, IN., Carolyn Buckman of Morganfield, Joyce Smith of CA., and Ann Duncan of Morganfield; six brothers, James Richard, Wayne, Wesley, Jerry, Andy and Randy Jackson, all of Uniontown; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were at 10m Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown with Bro. Jim Adams officiating. Burial was in City Cemetery in Uniontown. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice. MARY JON SCHAFFTER Mary Jon Schaffter, 79, Uniontown, died Tuesday Dec. 30th at 11:20am at her residence. Mrs. Schaffter was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church, Eastern Star Lodge #274, and Rebecca Lodge #34. She is preceded in death by her husband, W. E. "Smokey' Schaffter, in Dec. 1974. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Schaffter of Sturgis and John Wayne Clines of Orlando, FL., one sister, Ruby Lee Nally of Uniontown; one brother, Norman "Doc" Clines of Uniontown; and four grandchildren. Mary E. FALLS, 101, died at 8:35 p. m. 01-06-1998 at Fairway Nursing and Rehabilition Center, Evansville. She was born 06-01-1896 in Henderson Co., Ky. She and her husband operated C. W. Falls Grocery in Oatsville for many years. She also worked at J. C. Penny in Princeton. Preceding her in death were her husband, C. W., in 1966; two sons, Richard "Dick" in 1976 and Billie Dee in 1992; a grandson, Jeffery Scott Falls; her parents, William PORTER and Mariah FREDERICK DAUGHTERY; a brother and a sister. Surviving are a daughter Lucille CHRISTMAS of Evansville; a son, Ray FALLS of Ft. Branch; nine granddaughters, one grandson, 16 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a. m. Friday, Jan 9 at Colvin Funeral Home, Princeton, In., with the Rev. Tom Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Atkinson Chapel Cemetery, Oatsville. Hughes Woodson, deceased, that his acquaintance with said decedent commenced with the earliest recollection of the Deponent, that he is well satisfied that the said decedent was a Captain in the Virginia Continental line in the War of the Revolution as he could be not having been himself in the Service with said decedent that said decedent was reported to be a Captain in said line and was absent from home the greater part of the time the Revolution and that to the best of his recollection said decedent departed this life in the County of Powhatan in the state of Virginia aforesaid in or about the year 1803 or 1804. He, said Robertson further states that Jesse Woodson and Hughes Owens and Sally, his wife, formerly Sally Woodson of the said County of Powhatan in the state of Virginia. Hughes Woodson, Samuel Woodson, Thomas J Woodson, Quinton Kelly and Lucy Ann his wife formerly Lucy Ann Woodson of this County, George Berry and Elizabeth his wife, formerly Elizabeth Woodson and Jesse Woodson of __blank__ County in the state of Missouri are the only heirs at law of said decedent Hughes Woodson.
