Whitworth, born in Tennessee, in 1829, 1833 or 1834, and Catherine M. Humphrey, born in May 1833, in Kentucky, were married "at John Humphreys" in McCracken County February 7, 1850, in the presence of John Humphrey and S. C. (or S. E.) Whitworth, according to photograph copy of the marriage certificate obtained from National Archives, Washington, D. C. Widow Catherine Whitworth produced the marriage certificate when applying for a pension on the basis of the Civil War military service of Frederick F. Whitworth. Ten children were born to this marriage. ------------------------------ From: "Warren G Whitworth" Date: Fri, 9 Jan 1998 19:29:53 -0600 Subject: KY-F: CENSUS: Whitworth, 1850-1860, McCracken Co The 1850 Census of McCracken County, made August 16, lists the household of Sarah Ann Whitworth, 56, born in Tennessee, and Sally Ann Whitworth, 12, and George W. Whitworth, 15, both born in Tennessee. No record was located for Frederick F. and Catherine M. Whitworth although they were married in that county in February of that year. The 1860 Census lists the household of George W. Whitworth, now married to Margaret J. Whitworth, 18, born in Tennessee, in the immediate vicinity of the household of Frederick F. and Catherine M Whitworth, lending to the possibility that Frederick F., George W. and Sally Ann Whitworth were children of Sarah Ann Whitworth. ------------------------------ From: Susiwood Date: Sat, 10 Jan 1998 02:36:55 EST Subject: KY-F: Marriage Excerpts, 1875-1879 - Adair Co The following marriages are from the index to Adair Co.
