I John Hollaway, Sr., of Estill County and State of Kentucky being of sound mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for the same and knowing that it is appointed for all men to die, make this my last will and testament in manner and form following: 1st I desire to comment my soul to God the giver thereof. 2nd My funeral expenses and just debts paid 3rd I give unto my daughter Femozin Russel, one negro girl named Panthesy, also one negro man named Jack, to be her and her heirs for ever. 4th I give to my son, Gegory Hollaway, one negro boy named Smith, also old Nelly and Delsey and her child, if she has any one, to be his and his heirs for ever. 5th I give my son John Hollaway, negro Mariah, also Sal and Frank for him and heir heirs for ever. 6th I give unto my daughter Sarah Jackson, one negro girl named Ginetta, also a negro man named Ben to be hers and her heirs for ever. 7th I give unto my daughter Rachel Genings, one negro boy named Kelly to be her and her heirs for ever. 8th I give unto my grandson James Morton, fifty dollars cash for him and his heirs for ever. 9th I give unto my granddaughter Mary Morton, fifty dollars cash for her and heir heirs for ever. 10th It is my desire that the balance of my estate to be sold by my Executors to pay the just debts as before mentioned and the balance equally divided between my two sons and three daughters. Lastly, I constitute and ppoint my two sons, Gregory Hollaway and John Hollaway, Executors of this my last Will and Testament here by revoking all other and former wills and testaments by me heretofore made. I, Aaron McMonigle of the county of Estill and State of Kentucky, being in the possession of my proper mind and memory and having a desire to settle my own business being conscious that I cannot continue long. Do ordain, constitute and appoint this my last will and testament, to-wit. 1st It is my wish that all my just debts be paid. 2nd I will and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Ann McMonigle my sorrel horse, called Jim, saddle and bridle, with a first rate bed and furniture, also forty dollars in money. 3rd I will and bequeath unto my daughter, Penlini Kutas McMonigle my horse called Brown, and a saddle, bridle and blanket to be worth twenty five dollars also forty dollars in money and a first rate bed and furniture. 4th I will and bequeath unto my daughter Mary David McMonigle when she arrives to sixteen years of age, one horse worth eighty dollars, one saddle bridal and blanket, worth twenty five dollars. One first rate bed and furniture, also forty dollars in money. 5th This will make my three daughters equal with what I have given to Sarah Jane, my daughter, in my life time. 6th I will and bequeath unto my son Aaron McMonigle when he arrives at the age of eighteen, one horse worth eighty dollars, saddle bridal and blanket worth twenty five dollars and one first rate bed and furniture, one good suit of clothes together with a good english education, the expense whereof to be defrayed out of my estate. 7th I will and bequeath unto my sister-in-law Rebecca Noland, one mare called the "Butterage", together with three hundred dollars in money out of the first money that is collected of my estate. 8th It is my wish that my family remain together and keep house as though I was with them and that Rebecca Noland remain with and take charge of and raise my children. 9th It is my wish that the lower half of the farm on which I live is set apart for the use and benefit and support and raising of my children, also twenty head of sheep, twenty head of hogs, four choice milk cows, the best yoke of oxen on the place, together with two young bay mares, also a sufficient part of the crop and provisions now on hand for the support of family the present year and if there is a surplus it is to be sold; also I leave Alfred and Anderson my two servant boys and Martha my servant girl to cultivate the far and make provisions for the family; also a sufficient quantity of my farming utensils for the cultivation of the farms, also that the family is to have and enjoy all the benefits of that part of the farm until my son Aaron McMonigle is twenty one years old. 10th It is my wish that the upper part of the farm on which I live be leased or rented out until my son Aaron is twenty one years old. 11th It is my with that my servant John be hired out until my son Aaron is twenty one years old. 12th When my son Aaron is twenty one years old, then I will and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Jane Daniel my servant John. 13th When my son is twenty one as above I then will and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Ann my servant man Anderson. 14th When my son is twenty one as above I then will and bequeath unto my daughter Penlina Kutas my servant man Alfred. 15th When my son is twenty one as above I then will and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Davis my servant girl Martha and one child. 16th I will and bequeath unto my son Aaron McMonigle when he arrives to the age of twenty one the whole of the farm on which I now live. Also it is my wish that all the stock on the farm at the time my son is twenty one be sold. 17th It is my wish that at my death or as soon after, as may be, all my perishable property of every description that is not set apart for the support of the family be sold. 18th It is my wish that all the proceeds of the sales of my property and land together with all money belonging to my estate, when my son is twenty one years old, be queally divided among my four daughter, namely Sarah Jane Daniel, Rebecca Ann, Penline Kutas, and Mary David McMonigle. I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty and faithful friends Francis Noland and Andrew D. Campbell the executors of this my last will and testament, with full powers to carry into full effect each and every part thereof. I, Israel Meadows, being week in body, but sound mind and memory do make, ordain and publish this instrument to be my last will and testament. It is my will and desire that Sydney L. Meadows, son of Jacob B. Meadows, have cow now at the house of said Jacob B. Meadows and that Perry A. Meadows, son of said Jacob Meadows, have the calf of said cow. It is my will that the tract of land down in Estill County on Millers Creek adjoining the land of said Jacob B. Meadows and the land of John Horn be divested to said Sydney L. Meadows and Perry A. Meadows, their heirs and assigns for ever. It is my will that the tract of land on which I live in Estill County be divested to John Horn, his heirs and assigns for ever, upon his paying twenty dollars to my estate and his giving up to my estate a bay mare that said Horn has. It is my will that my wife Barbara Meadows have the whole tract of land for a home during her natural life that is herein before divested to John Horn and life estate have preference over the inheritance to said Horn, that is to say that said Horn have the same after her death and my request is that my said wife do not keep too much stock on the place. My will is that the tract of land that William Edens lives on in Estill County on Millers Creek or a branch of said creek, be divested to my grandson James W. Cole to him and his heirs for ever, and I also leave to him my rifle gun. All the balance of my estate I give to my wife during her natural life, and my wish is that she dispose of the same as she pleases, except, the colt of my bald faced mare with which she has now in foal which I give to Sally Horn and excepting the first colt of the bay mare that John Horn is to give up to my estate which first colt, when it is foaled, I give to Elizabeth Horn. I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of September 1827.
