Obits on page 2. FATHER ANTHONY ZIEGLER Father Anthony Ziegler, 64, Waverly, formerly of Owensboro died Monday morning at the Carmel Home in Owensboro after an illness. Father Anthony was pastor of the Sacred Heard and St. Peter's Parish. He was ordained a priest in May of 1959. His first assignment was under Father Anthony Raymond Hill in Uniontown from 1959-1962. He was also active in the Owensboro Diocese where he served as director of worship from 1982-1992 and as director of continuing education from 1982-1997. He is survived by a sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Jack Kurz and one niece, Martha, all of Phoenix, AZ. The funeral mass will be held Thursday morning at 10am at St. Stephens Cathedral in Owensboro with burial to follow in Resurection Cemetery in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sacred Heart-St. Peter's Parish and to The Mount Saint Joseph Retreat Center. CHRISTABELL FOSTER Christabell Foster, 86, Uniontown, died Monday, Feb. 2., at 7:35pm at Union County Methodist Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brown Foster Sr; three sons, George Thomas, Jesse Lee, and Clarence; a daughter, Sarah; parents Frank and Nannie Taylor; two sisters, Bertha Cattlett and Hazella Bumpus; two brothers, Oscar Taylor and Arthur Taylor. She was a member of The New Hope Church of God In Christ in Uniontown. Survivors include three daughters, Nannie Burkins of Sturgis, Della Mae Johnson of Morganfield and Rose Marie Blackwell-Carter of Evansville; two sons, Brown Foster Jr of Uniontown and Oscar Foster of Terre Haute, IN; 27 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services were at 1pm Saturday at Carr's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Pollard officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery in Uniontown. ERNESTINE PHILLIPS Ernestine Phillips, 74, Rosiclare, IL died Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, at Medco Center in Morganfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and a son, Cory. Surviving are two sons, Billy of Sturgis and Harold of Rosiclare; two sisters, Margaret Owen of Sturigs and Jean Springer of Evansville; a brother, Bob Day of Paducah; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were at 2pm Friday at Hosick Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Flourine Cemetery. MARJORIE VITTITOW COWAN Marjorie Vittitow Cowan, 93, Morganfield, died Saturday, at 1:30am at Metcalfe County Nursing Home. Mrs. Cowan was preceded in death by her parents, George Vittitow and Laura Vittitow, and her husband, Burnett Cowan. Survivors include two sons, Burnett L. Cowan of Yorktown, VA., and George Cowan of Edmonton, KY; one sister, Sybil Springer of Morganfield; two brothers, Wilford Vittitow and Stuyard Vittitow, both of Morganfield; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services were at 1pm Tuesday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Mark Galloway officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellow Cemetery. MORRIS DAILEY KELLEY Morris Dailey Kelley, 62, Clay, died Monday afternoon in Ozark, MO from injuries received in a farm accident. Mr. Kelley was a farmer and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Dorris Dailey Kelley. Survivors include three daughters, Ginger Kelley and Barbie Kelley, both of Atlanta, GA., and Marcie Farley of Morganfield; one son, Morris Dailey Jr.(Mar-D) of Clay; four sisters, Margie Taylor of Sullivan, IN., LaDon Frederick of Clay, Maxeen Marks of Madisonville, Barbara Beckner Cantor of Symsonia, KY; a brother, D. H. Kelley of Clay; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 3pm at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay. RUBY "RUBE" PROW JR. Ruby L. "Rube" Prow Jr., 67 of Evansville, died Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Deaconess Hospital. He owned R & J Carpet Center for 18 years, and was carpet manager for Fireside Galleries unti 1994. He was a well-known musician in his hometown area, and he played guitar and sang with several bands for many years. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Engleman of Washington, IN; two sons, Daniel A. of Mount Vernon and Randal L. of Chicago; two sisters, Helen Wilson of Dalton, KY and Ann Coffman of Morganfield; a brother, Joe of Dalton; three grandchildren, Amy Prow and Neil and Max Engleman; and neices and nephews. Services were at 11am Friday at Alexander Funeral Home with Rev. John Shoulta officiating. Burial was in Dalton Cemetery in KY. KATHRYN OMER Kathryn Omer, 87, Morganfield, died Thursday at 1:30 am at Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Omer in 1971. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Oakley of Frankfort, KY and Kay Cooper of Robertsville, MO; three sons, Jerry Omer of Tulcaloosa, AL., Larry Omer of Alameda, CA., and Dale Omer of Mesa, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Services were at 3pm Saturday at Morganfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Galloway officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.
