PHURA WOOD, DAUGHTER-IN-LAW Grand Rivers, Ky., Feb. 17 --- Double funeral and burial services were held here Tuesday for Mrs. Phura Wood, 46, and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alvin Wood, 24, who died Friday, February 9. Mrs. Phura Wood, who was the wife of Walter Wood, died at her residence after a six months' illness. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Miss Martha Wood of Detroit, Mrs. Noble Young and Miss Eva Mae Wood, both of Grand Rivers; two sons, Alvin Wood and Kelly Ray Wood, both of Grand Rivers. Mrs. Alvin Wood died at her residence in Henderson. Mrs. Fisher, the former Miss Katie Holloway Pettit, had made her home in Arizona for the past 20 years. Survivors are the husband, Lee Fisher; a daughter, Mrs. David Hartman, and three grandchildren. The marriage of Mrs. Margie Gibbs, Princeton, and Garvis Lee Akers, this city, was solemnized Sunday afternoon, December twenty-fourth, at half past two o'clock at kthe residence of R. G. Emery, minister of the Church of Christ. The only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Enderlin, of Lone Oak. The bride wore a frock of teal blue with black accessories. Mr. Akers is a machinist at the Illinois Centrail Railroad shops. COCHRAN DIES; FUNERAL NOT SET Mrs. Genevieve Katterjohn Cochran, 59, 2814 Clark street, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bob Cocke, Cairo, Ill. Mrs. Cochran was a member of the Broadway Methodist church. Survivors besides her daughter include three sons, George Cochran, Paducah, and Henry and Elmer Cochran, both of Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. BONNER, JR., DIES; FUNERAL TODAY Maurice Edward Bonner, Jr., 16, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Bonner, on the Cairo road, as the result of a heart ailment. He had been in ill health all winter but was not taken seriously ill until late Friday night. Bonner was a student at St. Mary's Academy. Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Misses Gertrude and Betty Louise Bonner and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Bichon and Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Bonner. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Harris and Merryman funeral chapel with the Rev.
