Obits are on page 7 this week. JOE FRENCH, SR. Joe French, Sr., 89, Morganfield died at 8:05am Saturday at Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson. A member of St. Agnes Church in Uniontown, he was a farmer and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, where he served as a Grand Knight. Surviviors include seven daughters, Janice Luckett of Morganfield, Ruth Minter of Lexington, Martha Maze, Betty Maze and Irene Walsh, all of Louisville, and Frances Abell and Debbie McArdle, both of Henderson; two sons, Andrew French of Jeffersonville, IN and Joe French Jr. of Morganfield; two sisters, Annette Courtney of Morganfield and Agnes Adamson of Evansville; four brothers, Raymond French, Clarence French, and Buddy French, all of Morganfield nad Edgar French of Lakeland, FL, 29 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren. Services were at noon Monday at St. Agnes Church in Uniontown. Father Henry Willett officiated. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Agnes Church or St. Anthony's Hospice of Union County. MILDRED "MILLIE" BAIRD Mildred "Millie" Baird, 70, Sturgis, died at 5:20pm Tuesday, February 10, at Deaconnes Hospital in Evansville. Survivors include her husband, William R; one daughter, Vikki Hall of Sturgis and one son, Bill Baird of Sturgis; and three grandchildren. Services were at 2pm Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Lane officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. FORREST VINSON "SNAKE" ROBERTSON Forrest Vinson "Snake" Robertson, 76, Marion, KY., died Saturday at 8:45 am from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Hwy 120, 3 miles east of Marion. Mr. Robertson worked for Chrysler Corporation for 29 years and was a WWII Veteran. He was a life member of VFW Post #5484 in Providence, and a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; six daughters, Phyllis Cook and Janice Hunt, both of Marion, Bobbie French and Beverly Dailey, both of Sturgis; three sisters, Virginia Robertson of Sturgis, Irene Clark of Blackford and Bobbie McHome of LaCrosse, SC; two brothers, Denver Robertson of Marion and Robert Robertson of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several neices and nephews. Services were Tuesday at 1pm at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Bro. William Baird officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery where military rites will be held. (personal note- obits says 6 daughters, I count only 4 listed though) FLORENCE "MIDGET" WADDELL Florence "Midgett" Waddell, 54, Benton, KY, died Sunday at 6:46am at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Mrs. Waddell was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Pemberton in 1994, and her father in law, Vernon Waddell in 1996. She was affliated with the Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Waddell; two daughters, Kim Duncan of Murray and Mandy Brian of Benton; a son, Bobby Wynn Waddell of Benton; a sister, Zelda McDowell of Marion; seven brothers, Bill Whartonof Georgia, Jimmy Wharton of Louisville, Larry Wharton of Florida, Clarence Wharton of Henderson, Walter Wharton of Hawaii, Sammy Wharton of Henderson and Donnie Wharton of Indiana and six grandchildren. Services were at 3pm Tuesday at Church of God of Prophecy in Sturgis with Rev. William T. Pritchett and Rev. A.G. Winters officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. LOUISE LATTA Louise Latta, 93, Saturday, died at 4:05pm Tuesday February 17, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was the oldest living member of First Christian Church in Sturgis. She was a Sunday School teacher and a choir member. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nilda and Fred Schleifer of Harrodsburg, KY; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services were at 10am Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Bullock officiated. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery. Donations can be made to First Christian Church. MARY WILLIE BROWN Mrs. Mary Willie Brown, 87, Morganfield, died Friday at 5:54pm at Marion Memorial Hospital in Marion, IL. Mrs. Brown was a life long member of the Morganfield Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1976; and her parents, Willis L. Borup and Martha L. (Ashby) Brown. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Collins of Morganfield; a sister, Ann Babinski of Memphis, TN; and a brother, Joe Borup of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Gregg Collins of Lompac, CA and Garry Collins of Morganfield and nieces and nephews. Services were at 1pm Sunday at Whitsell Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Ferguson officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morganfield Christian Church, and the Union County Senior Citizens Program. PROCTOR FELTS Proctor Felts, 79, Sturgis, died at 12:23 pm Tuesday February 17, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn VanCleave in 1984; his parents, George and Annabelle Proctor Felts; and one grandchild, John S. Nall Jr. Survivors include two dauthers, Joel Ann Felts Williams (with whom he made his home), of Sturigs, nad Georgia Kay Felts Caudill of Louisville; one son, William Proctor Felts Sr of Challis, ID; two sisters, Evelyn Felts Quinn of Mesa, AZ., and Carolyn Felts Howell of Phoeniz, AZ; one brother, George Hamilton Felts Jr of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bryan, 25 years of age, died at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the Highlad Sanitarium. Death followed an eight month illness of Tuberculosis. Mr Bryan served with the American Expeditionary Forces in France for nearly a year. He became ill while overseas, and was a patient in a french hosptial for about six months. Mr. Bryan was a member of the Methodist church of Mayfield. He is survived by his widow, by his father, L.J. Bryan; by two sisters, Misses Elsie and Lema Bryan of Paducah, and by three brothers, Roy and William Bryan of Mayfield, and Courtland Bryan of Winter Haven, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the residence of Mrs. Bryan's father, D.C. Tucker, of Blandville Road. Interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery.
