Wheeler Obituary Mary Ann (Nave) Wheeler 1836-1894 Mary Ann (Nave) Wheeler was born the 29th of May, 1836, the daughter of Eli Nave and Thurzy Stover of Carter County Tennessee. Eli and his family left Carter County Tennessee and traveled the Wilderness Road through Boonsboro and Lexington, Ky enroute to Switzerland County Indiana. Mary Ann was born in Kentucky, according to the 1860-70-80 Census of Gallatin Co., Ky. She was probably born on the trip from Carter County Tennessee to Switzerland Co., Indiana. I am not sure if Eli lived in Ky for a while or not during his movement north to Indiana. Mary Ann married John Thomas Wheeler November 25, 1854. At least nine children were a result of this union; Mary Etta, Robert, Solomon, Elizabeth, Jane, John Morgan, Harve, Conn, & Cornelius, all born in Gallatin County, Ky. Mary Ann passed to the other side on December 12, 1894, leaving to morn her passing, her husband, children, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Sanders Christian Church and was a loyal follower. A wake was held at the home with burial in the Helm Cemetery in Gallatin County, Ky.
