Peck - Book F pg. 235 - Hardin Co Ky - 6 Feb 1879 Hardin County Feb 6th 1879 I, H.B. Peck of the County of Hardin and State of Kentucky do this day make my last will and testament. After the payment of my liabilities which are but few. Item 1: I will and bequeath to my son John Peck the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid after my decease in a reasonable time which is all I desire him to have of my estate. Item 2: I have sold to Simforan and Malinda Roser tract of land containing 132 acres at being a part of my Father’s old home place for the sum of fifteen hundred dollars for which sum they have excuted to me their notes and I have made them a good title to the same; Seven hundred and fifty dollars of the above named sum is a gift to my daughter Malinda. Item 3: I will and bequeath to William T. Peck the tract of land he now lives on including the land I bought from Thomas Chenault and the tract I purchased of Solomon Irwin in all 172 acres. I estimated it worth two thousand dollars. I give him Seven hundred and fifty dollars out of the two thousand he is to execute his note to me for the balance. I will and bequeath to the Christian Church one acre of land adjacint to the Church called Pecks Grove so long as it shall be used for preaching purposes. I do this for the respect I have for them. Item 4: I will and bequeath to Catherine Almeda Price with the consent of my wife Catherine Peck the tract of land known as part of Dr. William Smiths old farm containing 237 1/2 acres. I estimate it worth two thousand dollars. I give her Seven hundred and fifty dollars out of the above two thousand, this land is hers and after her death it must belong to her children, she is to execute her note to me for this balance. Item 5: I will and bequeath to Henry S. Peck my home tract of land containing 335 acres except the house and 6 acres of land including the house Catherine Peck is to have that her lifetime or as long as she remains my widow, and then it is to belong to my son Henry S. Peck . I estimate said land worth twenty five hundred dollars and I also will that I give him Seven hundred and fifty dollars out of the that and his is to execute his note to me for the balance. Item 6: I will and bequeath to my wife Catherine Peck all my personal property after paying my son John the five hundred dollars I will to him. Also leave Catherine Peck my Executrix she is to give no security for transacting any of my business. I also want her to me no difference with any of her children. I further more will that if either one of my children aren’t satisfied with my will and goes to law to try to break my request it is my will that they are to have nothing belonging to my estate. Item 9: I further more direct that if either of my children dies and leaves no children of their own it is my will that what they are from my estate must equal be divided with my other children. I further direct that William Henry and Catherine Almeda shall execute their notes to their mother for the sums over and above the Seven Hundred and fifty dollars I give them, their notes must be given after my death. Cemeteries by Price Meek] This graveyard is located about 1/2 mile to the left of Hwy.561 a mile or so below Gest KY in Henry County. The farm was owned by Alberta Harper at the time this was compiled. Information on the people buried here, was given by Altha Craigmyle Kelley Clark who is a member of the family listed. There are no known stones to mark the graves only creek rocks. This research was done in June 1981, by Ramona McDowell Kelley.
