Moore was preceded in death by a son, Danny Moore; a daughter, Geraldine Moore; his father, Henry Moore; a brother, Billy Moore; and a sister, Venita Moore. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lucy E. "Betty" Moore of Morganfield, whom he met and married while stationed in England; his stepmother, Edna Smith of Oak Ridge, TN; two daughters, Diane Martin and Jeannie Holland, both of Morganfield; four sons, Mike Moore, Pat Moore and Tim Moore, all of Morganfield and Colin Moore of Montgomery, AL; two half sisters, Irene Moore of Miami,FL., and Henrietta Smith of Jasper,GA; three half brothers, Fred Moore of Rockwood,TN., Cecil Moore of Albuquerque, NM, and Carl Moore of Port Orange, FL; sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr.. Moore was an airplane propeller specialist with the 322nd Bomb Squad-stationed in England. He fought in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Corporal Moore received the European-African-Middle East Theather Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, American Defense Service Medal and Distinguished Unit Citation. Services were held Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church with burial in the St. Ann Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or The American Heart Association. ANNIE WILLIE SEIBERT Annie Willie Seibert, 93, of Sturgis, died on Sunday, October 4, at the Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton, KY. Mrs.. Seibert was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Seibert in 1980. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Dalton of Eddyville, KY; 3 grandchildren, Rozanna Dalton Thompson of Louisville, Brian Dalton of Sturgis, and Daphne Dalton Banzhof of Charlotte, NC; and 7 great grandchildren. Mrs.. Seibert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sturgis for 75 years and a charter member of the Sturgis Garden Club. Mr.. and Mrs.. Seibert were the owner/operator of the Sturgis Furniture Company for many years. She was born in Union County on September 30, 1905. Mrs.. Seibert's parents were Ben Chandler and Lillian Davis. Services will be today at 2pm at the First Baptist Church in Sturgis, with the Rev. H. K. Sorrell and Rev. Don Phelps officiating, burial will be in the Pythian Ridge Cemetery. Bealmear, 75, died Wednesday, September 30, at his residence on Old Palmyra Road. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Alfred Bealmear; his mother, Annie Elizabeth Bealmear; and his wife, Ina Bealmear; three brothers, Ernest Bealmear, Charlie Bealmear and Malcolm Bealmear. He is survived by one son, Jim W. Bealmear of Cadiz, KY; one daughter, Vicki B. Services were Saturday, Oct. 3, at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, with burial in the Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. LAWRENCE (LARRY) E. HEFFINGTON Lawrence (Larry) E. Heffington, 42, of Athens, TX, formerly of Morganfield, died Wednesday at his home in TX after a long illness. He was born in Morganfield to Fred and Ruth Ann Cowan Heffington. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Heffington who died in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Rosalyn (Beth) Heffington of Athens; two daughters, Victoria (Tori) Marie Heffington, Elizabeth (Lisa) Ann Heffington, both of Athens; his mother, Ruth Ann Heffington of Morganfield; a brother, Gene Heffington of La Grange, KY; two nieces and one nephew. Mr.. Heffington was a resident for Athens, TX for the past eight years and has served as the County Attorney for the past six years. He was president of the First United Methodist Church's Administrative Board, and a member of the Rotary Club. Heffington received a Bachelor's Degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, and after graduation he taught at Union County High School and also coached baseball. He later moved to Houston to teach at Lamar High School and also coached girls basketball. While teaching, he attended law school at night at South Texas College of Law and was awarded a doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1988. It was in Houston that he met his wife, Beth, to whom he had been married for 15 years. In 1990 he was appointed to fill out the unexpired term of Assistant County Attorney, and in 1992 he was first elected to the Office of County Attorney. He was a member of the state bar of Texas, and served as president of the Henderson County (TX) Bar Association. As of last year, the County Attorney's Office is credited with collecting over one million dollars in hot check restitution for local merchants. Mr.. Heffington served on the Henderson County (TX) Juvenile Board and took a strong stand against juvenile crime. Mr.. Heffington took an active interest in the welfare of the youth of the county. His office furnished materials for the McGruff program, a drug awareness program for school children grades K-11. Along with MADD, his office supplied posters and bookcovers for all Henderson County, TX school children. He spoke at various schools on the topic of drug awareness. He served on the board of directors of the Henderson County Girls Softball Association and coached girl's softball for six years, taking a team to the state playoffs in 1996. He also coached girls YMCA basketball. Heffington was Honorary Chairman for the 1998 Cattle Baron's Ball for the Henderson County Unit of The American Cancer Society. Services were held on Friday, October 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Athens, TX, with Rev. Lawrence Culbertson officiating, burial was in the Athens City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Eunice of Morganfield; two sons, James R. Shockley of Westland, MI., and David L. Shockley of Detroit, MI; one sister, Jean Martin of Morganfield; two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and nieces and nephews. Mr.. Shockley was a World War II veteran and participated in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a retired salesman and a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church. Mr.. Shockley was born in Uniontown to the late Leora McDowell Shockley and Robert Shockley on November 23, 1919. SAMUEL EDWARD MILLER Samuel Edward Miller, 69, of Madisonville, formerly of Gary, IN., died Wednesday, October 7, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. Born on December 29, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN. He was the son of the late Willie Oliver and Lula Lois Carroll Miller. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Earlington, KY., and a long time resident of Brown Nursing Home. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the 27th Calvary of the Wolfhounds. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Graves of Munster, IN., and Sharon Totten of Chesterson, IN; one brother, Raymond Miller of Zephyr Hills, FL; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held on Monday, October 12, at 2pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington with Rev. Roger Peadro officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington. The month following his marriage, Mr. Goodpaster came to this township and settled on a farm which had been entered by his father-in-law, built a cabin and reduced the forest to a home, where he lived until his death, July 18, 1865. His widow now conducts the farm, which consists of eighty acres, and is well cultivated and stocked. She is a consistent Christian, an amiable woman, and the mother of six children-- Sarah M., Andrew Jackson, Mary M., Betsy Ann, Nancy J. OLLEMAN was born in Mercer County, Ky., October 6, 1828, and is the eldest of four children born to James and Mary (Tisinger) Olleman, natives respectively of Virginia and North Carolina. At the age of fourteen, Ezra lost his father; he was then employed at drivng cattle from Indianapolis to New York, at $6.50 per month; was thus engaged, alternating with farming, until 1846, when he began a three years' apprenticeship at cabinet-making in Cincinnati. In 1849, he came to Mooresville, and for three years conducted business as cabinet-maker, then sold out and engaged in merchandising at Waverly until 1858; he next purchased 320 acres of land in this township, on which he has since resided, with the exception of three years, when he was employed as associate editor of the Indiana Farmer at Indianapolis. During this period he also established, in company with James Buch- anan, the Sun, the first paper ever published in the interests of the Greenback National party, of which party he was the first Chairman of the State Central Committee, and also first Chairman of the State Executive Committee. Through the regular session of the Legislature of 1863-64, and the called session of 1864-65, he served as a Republican, having been elected from a district that usually gave 700 Democratic majority. In the spirng of 1863, he enlised in Company D, Seventieth Indiana Volunteer Infantry, but was discharged on account of physical disability. August 16, 1849, he was married to Amanda M. Kelley, daughter of James S. and Eliza (Whetsel) Kelley, natives of Harrisburg, Penn., and Wheeling, Va. Her father was a soldier in the war of 1812, and the Whetsel family came to Indiana in 1819, and settled on the banks of the White River, in Harrison Township, this county. Mr. and Mrs. Kelley were married in December, 1826; were the parents of four children, and died respectively in 1862 and 1852, members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. and Mrs. Olleman are the parents of five children--Orlando A., Alma Belle, Flora E., Laura E. and Edward L., and are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
