The same crowd made a similar attack on John Stubblefield the same nigh. The courts of Justice in dealing with such characters cannot be too riged and the sooner they can be locked up in the pen the better it will be for the whole country Mrs H.C. gentry ran a very narrow excape of bieng mad dog bit, a few days since as site was going out to her sons Meshac Gentry who lives only a short distance out from town. When she started she took with her a favorite dowy which she had had for some time, when only a short distance out she came to a small stream and there noticed something wrong with the dog, but rode on paying but little attention to it, shortly she saw the dog coming at full speed ran up to her and began trying to bit her. The slober were running from the dogs mouth in an incessant stream. She being able to retain her mind and nerve enought to keep the dog off until she could side up to the fence. Leaving her horse stand she walked a rail feence for quite a distance till she came to a small tree and there with the activity of a youth she climbed the tree and remained there until some parties came along who killed the dog BRODHEAD J.B.
