Neighbors, John Patterson, William Brunk and Henry Litsey the court of Grayson Co. in the State of Kentucky now sitting John Fulkerson a resident of Grayson County and State of Kentucky aged Seventy seven Years who first duly sworn according to the law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of congress passed June 7th 1832, That he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers Captain Headly and Col.Ephram Martin Militia officers of the State of New Jersey that he was first drafted at Sussex County in the State of New Jersey for one month, he entered the service in the year 1776 and in the Militia for New Jersey and that he served about four years altogether being sometimes drafted and sometimes turned out Volunteer and served under the Following Officers Gen. Dunlap, and Volunteered 6 months under Capt. Fields Miss Mattie Tubbs leaves today for Jelico Tenn, where she will spend a short time and then return to her home in Lebanon Junction DEATH: Died, Capt Tom Jim Ballard after a long and patient suffering passed quietly away on the evening of the 8th. Five weeks ago he came to this place where he has been with his son Mr Mat Ballard who administered to his wants. he was a contented patient and seemed willing to submit to the will of Him who doeth all things well. His remains were taken to his home on big Hill for interment. Crow Including the plantation on Which he now lives Sevently I will to Reed McGrew fifty acres of land whereon he now lives, and agreebly to a survey made by J. Crow. Five or six people have already been bitten and there has been one death: Jim Cope's son whose faces swelled twice its natural size and lower lip rotted off before his death. The others who were bit are in a very critical condition but some hope of thier recovery DEATH: Died on the 26 Miss Eliza Adams daughter of B.F. Adams after a long and continued illness of sixtten weeks. Miss Adams was greatly admired by her associates and will be sadly missed by all. Her last days were spent in praryer and reverence to God and her last words were words of comfort and admonition to her friends and relatives left behind to so prepare themselves that when the resurrection morn shall come that they will be able to meet her within the Pearly Gates, where there will be no more sparation.
